In the midst of the Twin Cities is one of the greatest natural wonders in the world: the Mississippi River and the National Park Service’s only park focused on the river: the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area. In celebration of the National Park Service’s Centennial, the Minneapolis Riverfront Partnership is expanding the Mississippi Minute film festival to include the entire 72 miles of this unique riverfront park.
We invite you to create a vision that tugs at heartstrings or makes people laugh and that showcases this mighty river and the National Park that winds through our metropolitan area. Most importantly, we want the film to inform, energize and inspire our citizenry to action – all in 60 seconds or less.
The 72-mile National Park has been divided into four categories:
Upper Mississippi: Dayton and Ramsey to Minneapolis City Limits
Minneapolis Riverfront: Minneapolis northern city limits to Ford Dam
St. Paul Riverfront: Ford Dam to St. Paul Southern City Limits
Lower Mississippi: St. Paul Southern City Limits to Hastings/Point Douglas
